Marker started in Germany in 1952 with a clear goal: to make skiing safer. The founder, Hannes Marker, had broken his leg in a fall himself. He decided to develop a binding that would release when it should but hold when needed. The result was Duplex and later Simplex, models that changed the entire industry.
Since then, Marker has continued to drive development forward. They created the Rotamat heel, which improved release in difficult falls. During the seventies, they took the market by storm with the M-series, which made advanced binding technology accessible to everyone.
Today, Marker is an obvious player on the world's race courses and in freeskiing environments. They develop bindings for everything from park skiing to technical ski touring.
