Alpine poles – balance, rhythm and control in every turn

A good pair of alpine poles does more than just provide support. They help you find your rhythm, improve balance and provide stability in every turn. With us, you'll find a carefully selected range from Scott, K2 and Leki – brands that stand for quality, function and durability.

Whether you're looking for poles for piste, freeride or junior skiing, we have models to suit your style and level. You can buy them online or in our store at Isaberg, where we'll be happy to help you find the right length and model for your skiing.

Choose the right alpine poles for your skiing style

Alpine poles come in several different materials – aluminum, composite and carbon fiber – all with their own advantages:

  • Aluminum: Affordable, durable and often can be bent back into shape if hit.
  • Composite: Lightweight and flexible, absorbs shocks well and can withstand tougher use.
  • Carbon fiber: Super light and stiff for those seeking maximum precision, but more sensitive to hard impacts.

The handle and strap also make a big difference. A simple plastic model works fine for everyday skiing, but a grip in rubber or cork provides better feel and warmth. Many premium poles, especially from Leki, have releasable straps that increase safety in case of a fall.

How to find the right length

Stand upright with your arm at a 90-degree angle. When you hold the pole below the basket and the handle touches the ground, you have found the correct length. For freeride skiing, you can choose slightly shorter poles for better control and balance.

Tips!

  • Always check that the baskets suit your skiing. Smaller for piste, larger for deeper snow.
  • Replace worn handles and straps – this provides better grip and longer lifespan.
  • For juniors: choose lightweight poles with ergonomic grips adapted for small hands.
