Layer 2

Layer 2

You'll find a wide selection of Layer 2 garments here with us! Are you going skiing, hiking, or on other adventures? Then it's important to stay warm. A good way is to use multiple layers, which means dressing in layers. You start with a base layer in wool or synthetic, whatever suits you. Then a Layer 2, and finally a jacket in a lined or shell model.

With good mid-layers, you can easily adjust whether you want it a bit warmer or cooler depending on the outdoor temperature. On a chilly day, a thicker fleece sweater might be enough, while a lined Layer 2 sweater is preferable on truly cold days. During spring, autumn, or slightly warmer winter days, a thinner synthetic sweater might be better.

Everything, of course, also depends on the jacket or trousers you have. Whatever you need, you'll find it here with us.

Large selection of Layer 2

In our assortment, you'll find practical Layer 2 clothing in various models that are insulating, windproof, warm, and moisture-wicking. The garments are suitable for children, women, and men and come from brands such as Peak Performance, 8848 Altitude, and Mons Royale.

When dressing, it's usually in three layers: a base layer in synthetic or wool, a Layer 2, and a jacket in a shell or lined model. Depending on whether you have a shell jacket, it requires a bit more from your Layer 2. Slightly colder days often require a shell jacket to have a thin Layer 2 jacket underneath, for example, in Primaloft or down.

These thin down or synthetic jackets are also perfect to use as a thinner jacket during spring and autumn. This gives you a versatile garment to use all year round.

Combine Layer 2

On really cold days, you can also combine with double mid-layers. One example of how to dress is to start with a good merino wool base layer closest to the body. Then a fleece or thicker wool sweater, with a thin down jacket or vest over it. Finally, a good ski jacket in a lined or shell model. Then you are ready for a cold January day on the slopes.

It's worth noting that your layers should fit well and comfortably. A large and cozy fleece sweater might feel nice in the store. But when it needs to go under your ski jacket, it might become tight and uncomfortable. It's important to remember that Layer 2 garments are meant for movement, so they should fit well and comfortably and give you full mobility on the slopes.

Different materials in your Layer 2

Mid-layers, as mentioned, come in many different materials, depending on what you need. A fleece sweater or a thicker merino wool sweater provides pleasant warmth. Merino wool has good warming properties, so if you're prone to feeling cold, it's worth investing in a thicker wool mid-layer. On slightly warmer spring days, these garments can easily fit in your backpack, as it might get a bit warmer later in the day.

As mentioned, we offer many different variants of Layer 2 garments. For more guidance in your choice, you can always read our buying guide. Of course, you can contact us for more help; we are more than happy to assist.
