A Bavarian shoemaker named Lorenz Wagner founded Lowa and began making sturdy work boots for his neighbors in the small village of Jetzendorf. This completely changed how ski boots fit the foot, and Lowa became #1.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the 1980s, they introduced the Trekker, which set a new standard for fit and performance in hiking boots. In 1988, Sepp Lederer handed over the reins of the company to his son Stefan.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the 2000s, Lowa reached a huge milestone, selling over 1 million pairs of boots in one year. In 2003, the company celebrated its 80th anniversary. The company had become the largest employer in the Jetzendorf area, with over 250 employees at its headquarters.
